Travel Photography 2016: A Year in Review

It’s been a big year of travel for us! Seeing as Joe has just published his new video talking about his favourite travel photography 2016, I thought I’d do the same here!

This year, we’ve explored 17 cities, 10 towns and 6 countries

To kick things off for my “travel photography 2016: year in review”, I thought I’d show you one of my favourite photos of the year, which was taken in Japan.

Tokyo Tower

Tokyo Tower

Roppongi Hills is a must to get a good view of Tokyo Tower and the surrounding city. Whenever we’re there, we always manage to spend at least a couple of hours watching the world go by, whilst getting shots of the whole city.

This was taken in one of the alleyways in Asakusa. Everything about this shot says “traditional Japan”. Both of these guys are wearing Yukata, whilst walking down past traditional Japanese shops 😍

Last Ones

Last Ones

I thought I’d put in my most liked photo on Instagram in 2016. This was taken whilst we were completely alone in the forest, coming back from seeing the monkeys at Jigokudani Snow Monkey Park.

Beyond

Beyond

New Zealand was everything that I’d expected and more. I’ve never been anywhere like New Zealand before, where there’s endless beautiful landscape scenery everywhere. This particular helicopter flight experience was truly unforgettable. To be honest, all the photos I took on this flight, are my most favourite photos I’ve ever taken!

Falls

Falls

Visiting The Otways has definitely been one of my favourite trips since living in Victoria, Australia. I love going for a good walk and one of best places to do that is in the Californian Redwood Forest and Hopetoun Falls.

Everything's Peachy

To some, this might not be a great “stand out” photo. But personally for me, it’s one of my absolute favourites! I LOVE the colour of the orange which reflects on the warm fuzzy feeling that the Filipinos give, when they see tourists around their country. If you’ve seen our vlogs from the Philippines, I’m sure you’re all tired of Joe and I saying how much we love the Philippines.

Pause

I’ve not actually posted this photo anywhere yet, as this is quite a recent photo taken whilst we were in Byron Bay in December. It seemed like all the surfers were out that day and it’s something I’d love to try out one day.

Big

Big

This is another recent photo, taken whilst hiking through Springbrook National Park in December. From the few national parks I’ve been to in Australia, all I can ever think is just how insanely big the country is!

Finally, let me say thank you to everyone who’s ever commented and liked our videos on Joe’s YouTube channel or our photos on social media/anywhere on the Internet. We read all of the comments and I love it when you guys take the time to comment to say hey, or say how you’ve been inspired to travel and start photography!

One of my goals this year, is to actually be more confident when Joe’s vlogging. I watch so many YouTuber’s and I commend anyone who vlogs and can completely be themselves, because it really is so hard to convey your thoughts on camera.

I want you guys to get to know me better and I’m starting to open up a little bit more on camera, so don’t be afraid to say hey on any of our social media — we’re always open to chat!
