MINI invited us out to Peru to experience a section of the Dakar Rally and drive a MINI Countryman from Lima to Pisco.
This vlog (the first of 3 planned videos from the trip) covers the initial excitement and build up to the start of the Rally, with our first experience doing some motorsport/rally photography.
It was always going to be challenging, but we thoroughly enjoyed it and am pleased with the shots we got, given the tight timeframe! In addition, we were also lucky enough to be driven on the practice circuit by Mikko Hirvonen in one of the rear-wheel drive buggies!
It was honestly one of the best experiences of my life and something we’ve been wanting to do for an incredibly long time! Huge thanks to the MINI photography team for sharing their drone shots, as we were unable to film inside the car!
Check out parts 2+3, where we are covering some street photography in Lima and the start of the Dakar Rally in Pisco (Pisco Loop).
